The Day of the Irish

Welcome everyone. Where I live there is snow on the ground but we cerebrated St. Patrick's Day.
Who knows, this lantern might have been used by St. Patrick to drive the snakes from Ireland, but only if he had a Pier One near by.

Ah yes, the green of the Irish and a touch of gold, for the gold at the end of the rainbow.

As we peak through the loops of shamrocks, we can see Irish Waterford Crystal that has been selected especially for this day.

Luck was on my side when I found one lonely shamrock plant at the grocery store to grace the table.

Beautiful shades of green bring this traditional Irish day into focus by all that are present. Lots of different textures should make any Irishman feel at home on his day.

The round mat is from Pier One, gold charger ~ Michael's, dinner plate is Italian Countryside ~ Mikasa, salad plate ~ Bordallo Pinheiro, butter plate ~ Pier One, and little ramekin Sur la table.

As I gaze across the table, I can't help but think what fun this was to put together as my first published tablescape.

All we need now is for dinner to be served.

Once dinner is finished, we will all enjoy a cup of Irish Coffee. Hope everyone enjoyed a Happy St. Patrick's Day.
